when you divide a zip lock bag with a hot knife, try to do it on top of a piece of thick cardboard (Amazon box type) so no plastic zip lock bag residue would not be pasted on the chopping board. Also it would prevent damage to the chopping board from a too hot knife. Hope this helps.
