  1. When we bought our first house, there were no such stackable boxes, just the little ones you showed at the start …..but the Argos tool set fitted in fine. I dread to think how many jobs we did only to struggle through with junk tools, and buy the proper tools afterwards – eg fitting a kitchen with a rechargeable screw driver that came free with a half a tank of petrol….how short sighted!

  2. Over the past years I have increased my diy and I’m now going to do my first proper project and build a 15x9m deck

  3. Get the best you can afford whether its hand tools or power tools. With hand tools it really makes a big difference getting top quality screwdriver sets. Cheap sets are commonly made from softer metals and the heads wear quickly, very frustrating.

  4. Bits: buy a driver/set with all the different varieties, then get a small pack of impact Pozi drive/philips size 2. They are the ones you’ll lose/break, having ones you can whack in an impact driver is very handy.
